Latest Revelation

I realized that no one goes to Heaven because they said the "sinner's" prayer. Confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord is key to starting on your journey to eternal life, but its not all that is required. It's not a free ticket into Heaven. Just cause you said it once doesn't mean you got the VIP all access pass.

Just because you attend the members meetings once a week (that'd be church), and you sit on various commitees (ministries) and the board (church leadership) doesn't mean anything either.

It's really all about who you know. Its about how good a relationship you have with Jesus, the son of the Big Guy. If He vouches for you to His Father, you're in. And the only way He would vouch for you is if you aknowledge Him as Lord, obey His commands and have an intimate close relationship with Him.

If you have an intimate close relationship with Jesus, the issue of Him being Lord will be obvious and no longer an issue. And as for obeying His commands its not about being a servant, but about the fact that you want to please Him because you are close to Him and love Him.

So, my reveleation, in summary, is that salvation comes from knowing Jesus and that's why you'd get to spend eternity with Him. He certainly doesn't want a bunch of people to work hard to then show up expecting something else than to just be with Him forever. No wonder he says in different parables that some will show up saying they knew Him and He will shut them out and say He never knew them. They were too busy working maybe, to really know Him intimately.

He is the great reward at the end of our days. Not a vacation at Club Med when we die. Heck even that would sux if it was for an eternity. I even wondered what the point of Heaven was but if it's to be closer to Him and be with Him I think I could dig that.
